That house the Ruri's built 2.0

Here we go again... We have decided to jump back into the building arena after 2 yeas of living in our first Clarendon built home. It was always our intention to move closer to the city, and after much deliberation we decided a knock down rebuild in our favourite suburb was the best decision for us to have the frontage and land size needed for a dual living home whilst still having plenty of back yard space for the kids and dog to run wild. Choosing a builder this time round was quite similar to last we narrowed in on Kalka, Style master, and Clarendon. We were drawn Kalka based on their Rochedale estate home with wide open spaces to the outdoors and general high quality finishes. Style Masters we liked for their overall layout and standard luxe inclusions. However it was only Clarendon that offered the dual living (home within a home) option that ticked all of the boxes. We chose the Sheridan 38-Malibu Facade with the home within a home option, with a few modifications to the butlers pantry and walk in robes. We will post date/progress updates as we go. SR

Almost there!

5th October

We have been a little MIA lately due to moving interstate/renovating our other property. But it has been great checking up on the build. We met with Clarendons Area Construction Manager onsite who was great and put our mind at ease with the little bits and pieces that need some tlc to be completed in a timely manner so we can have handover on October 16th! Very exciting. We have PCI this Friday 9th October :)

Tiling is Finito!

11th September

Our tiling has been completed, very happy with our choices and our late decesion to reinstate the floor to ceiling tiles in all of the bathrooms! Really like how it contrasts against the vanities as well. Stone due to go in today, Next week we have stairs to be polished, Electrical and Plumbing final fit off.

Bathroom tiling

7th September

The Tilers have been busy...There was a slight hiccup with the extra tiles that were ordered and delivered as the tiler needed 300x300 and the 450x450 arrived, all was sorted in the end though. We also saw (through a photo the tiler sent) that they had installed soap holders even though we have niches?! The tiler has assured that they will be removed, Luckily we spotted this before the tiling and grout had been completed. SS has advised fitout is due to start next wednesday.

Tiles Galore!

4th September 2015

Our main floor tiles are laid, they are a tad darker than what we had expected in these photos but i think with some decent sun/artificial light they will look lighter. Just waiting on the grout now and will hopefully have acheived our "concrete floor" look.

We have organised our floor to ceiling tile upgrade for the bathrooms directly with the tiler.  He has been nice enough to do all of the colour matching for us and sent through all of the below photos. It's all starting to take shape now!

Splendour in our Render..............painting/kitchen and vanities!

31st August

August ended in a big way for us, we had the render, cladding,  painting completed, and vanities and garage door installed. We were questioning our cladding and render colour as we are using it as our internal wall colour aswell,  it was showing a slight yellow tint in the external photos we were sent but the interal looks fine... thank goodness. Its all coming together now.we can not wait until we're in..... approx 5-6 weeks left!

Cladding, Eaves, Render, Internal Fitout

21st August

Update for this week, we are now just over 14 weeks since site cut.  We had our internal fixout, cladding, eaves, and render start. The renderer is doing the top half of the house first, the painter will be going by and painting  what is completed of the render/cladding and eaves. Privacy screens and Kitchen fitout are due on Monday. Scaffolding to be removed on Tuesday. I guess somewhere in there the renderers will complete the rest of the house as the Painter is due back on Wednesday to finish the lower half of the exterior and start the interior painting. Looks like all we have left scheduled for September is the last of the carpentry, tiling, garage door, plumbing and electrical to be finalised, and a well overdue site clean. Can not wait till we have the keys!
